About the Ontario Veterinary College:

Pet owners are referred to OVC by their family veterinarian in order to receive advanced diagnostic and surgical procedures for their pets and treatments that are not readily available in general practice.

Every year the Ontario Veterinary College helps more than 5,000 dogs, cats and other pets.

Approximately 90 per cent of OVC patients suffer from serious illnesses, such as advanced cancer, heart disease, liver failure, orthopedic and urinary tract diseases.

Overall, about 50 per cent of our patients require some type of surgery or minimally invasive procedure to treat their condition.

We recently opened the first comprehensive animal cancer centre in Canada—the Mona Campbell Centre for Animal Cancer—which includes a linear accelerator for the latest in radiation therapy; built a diagnostic imaging suite complete with a CT scanner; and renovated the hospital entrance, client area and examination rooms to offer a bright, spacious, comfortable and stress-relieving environment for people and pets alike.

Now we are creating a new world-class facility in order to remain at the forefront of veterinary medicine, raise the standard of care and provide the most advanced surgical and anesthesia techniques, diagnoses and treatment in Canada.

The Ontario Veterinary College is currently ranked 1st in Canada and 8th in the world for veterinary science. Your support is much appreciated in helping us advance the health of all species, including our own.
