My name is Kelly and this is my fourth year participating in the Smiling Blue Skies walk for canine cancer. Kermit and I are looking forward to taking part in the walk again this year.
My first Cocker was a wonderful black and tan boy named Quigley. He was a sweet and gentle soul that transformed many people into dog lovers (even people that had been afraid of dogs!). Unfortunately I lost him to malignant melanoma just one month before his 10th birthday. It was only one month from the time he was diagnosed until the time he crossed the Rainbow Bridge.
I am also walking for others that I and my close friends have lost - my Ontario dad Andy, Robbie the Sheltie, Miranda the Miracle Cocker, Gloria Turner and Papa Reyn, father to a very good friend.
Quigley is my motivation for starting my involvement, but my current dogs are my motivation for continuing it. Cancer takes far too many from us, well before their time. Let's raise the funds to do the research and kick cancer's butt!
