Tribute Giving - Monica Sofia Pereira Janicas Memorial Bursary
Monica Sofia Pereira Janicas, affectionately known to her closest family as Moniquita, enrolled into the Animal Biology program at Guelph University in the fall of 2021. An honor student and graduate of Bishop Tonnos Secondary School, located in Ancaster ON., Monica demonstrated her drive and passion for education during her short time at the University, through her dedicated delivery of her work assignments and engagement in the program’s content. Monica often reflected on her course curriculum, sharing what she had learned with those around her. In doing that, Monica left behind an increased awareness around animal safety and agriculture for those who knew her well.
At a very young age, Monica demonstrated a love for animals and with that love grew a passion which led her to pursue the Animal Biology program at Guelph University, with the ultimate goal of becoming a Veterinarian. Monica wanted to travel the world in support of saving the lives of animals who are in need and may have been neglected or forgotten. She wanted to dedicate her life to protecting animals many of us welcome into our homes as part of our families.
Monica’s thirst for knowledge and love for animals was paralleled only by her creative mind which came out in her art. She remains an inspiration to us all who had the privilege of knowing her. To celebrate Monica’s legacy we invite you to support this fund that’s been established.
